Why doggy daycare? Why not just leave them at home?

Doggy daycare can be highly beneficial for dogs for several reasons:

1. **Socialization**: Doggy daycare provides an excellent opportunity for dogs to interact and socialize with other dogs in a supervised and controlled environment. This helps prevent behavioral issues such as aggression or excessive shyness and promotes healthy social skills. Dogs that regularly interact with other dogs tend to be better adjusted and more confident in various social settings.

2. **Physical and Mental Stimulation**: Dogs require both physical and mental stimulation for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. In a daycare setting, dogs have access to various toys, activities, and playmates. All of these will keep them engaged and mentally stimulated throughout the day. Our playtime and exercise sessions help dogs burn off excess energy, reducing the likelihood of destructive behaviors like chewing or excessive barking when they’re home.

3. **Relief from Boredom and Loneliness**: Many dogs experience boredom and loneliness when left alone at home for extended periods. After the pandemic lockdowns, you may have noticed excessive separation anxiety from your dog that may have become problematic in their behaviors. Doggy daycare provides a stimulating and interactive environment where dogs can spend their day, alleviating boredom and curing their separation anxiety. This can be especially beneficial for dogs whose owners work long hours or have busy schedules, ensuring that their pups receive the attention they need to thrive.

What are your qualifications to watch my fur baby?

You can learn more about Madison in our ABOUT section but here’s the long and short of it:

Madison grew up with at least 8 dogs in the house at any given time as her father was an AKC breeder & trainer for several organizations in Arizona and the Southwest. When she went to college in NYC, she worked at a doggy daycare that Desert Pups is mirrored after in its very casual, living room-like appearance to help dogs and humans feel more comfortable. She’s worked and attended dog daycares all around the country until she was ready to come home to Arizona and open Desert Pups. Believe us when we say - she’s seen it all with both pups and Pawrents!

Madison’s staff, called Pawtrollers, have Madison’s trust. So much so she would leave her precious service dog Hollywood June with any one of them without hesitation. Our Pawtrollers love your dogs like you do. They get spoiled, snuggled, and silly with dogs of all breeds and sizes to ensure the safety and happiness of your fur baby.

My little dog doesn’t like large dogs, can they still go to daycare?

Yep! We have 2 rooms for our puppies. The Saguaro Room is for our larger, high-energy dogs while our Prickly Pear Room is for our smaller or senior dogs. Their safety and happiness are our top priorities. We talk one-on-one with owners to review your pup’s triggers and fears so that we do everything in our power to prevent anything that might be a bad experience for your dog.
